BTCL, the current T & T, is the first to bring telecommunication service to three Hill Highlands in Bangladesh. In 1968, the service delivery service started by establishing Magneto Exchange in Bandarban Hill District. In 1981, 200 lines of CB exchange were introduced in this district. In 1987, the 400-line modern Emd Exchange was launched. In 1988, NWD launched in the context of customer demand. The only reliance of the telecommunication time of the time, T & T exchange was converted to modern digital exchange in Bandarban in 2002. BTCL building located on the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman road near the foodgrain of Bandarban city. Bandarban Exchange Holding capacity 2700 Under the Bandarban Digital Exchange, 555 ADSL broadband internet connections are available. Bandarban Sadar, Alikadam, Lama, Ruma, Roangchari, Naikhangchhari, Thanchi, constitute Bandarban Telecom Unit with these seven upazilas. Presently Digital Exchanges were set up in six upazilas except Thanchi. Bandarban district headquarters and upazilas can easily talk to customers abroad.
